Local producer to be honored

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 27, 2012 — Local producer Pepper Lindsey was presented with the 2012 Jacksonville Film Industry Award at the 12th Annual Jacksonville Film Industry Reception. Members of the Mayor’s Advisory Board on Motion Pictures, Television and Commercial Production, the Jacksonville City Council, the Jacksonville Film & Television Office and industry leaders gathered to celebrate this year’s highlights in local film and digital media production.

Lindsey was honored for her many contributions to the local industry. As a Jacksonville native, she is an award-winning producer with a diverse portfolio that includes hard-hitting reality programs, gorgeously filmed travel shows, commercial campaigns, feature films and television movies. Pepper is the CEO of Lindsey Films, Inc., which she founded with husband and business partner, Kent Lindsey, in 1987. Pepper has been instrumental in hiring hundreds of local production personnel, and mentoring countless individuals in the film and television industry. While working with Fox Television’s America’s Most Wanted, Pepper was influential in producing several of the program’s re-enactment segments in Jacksonville. As the first female chair of the Film and Television Advisory Board, Pepper worked to position Jacksonville as a prime filming location and she a staunch advocate for local industry, encouraging out of town production companies to hire local crew. “Pepper has been an unwavering champion of Jacksonville’s film and television industry and is one of Jacksonville’s true leaders,” said Mayor Alvin Brown.
